The Terms of Baseball

Infield Fly: When a ball is hit in the air within the infield and with runners on both first and second base the ball is declared dead runners stay and the batter is out. This prevents the fielder of intentionally dropping the ball forcing the runners to run resulting in most cases a double play

Home Run: when a batter hits the ball over the fence opposite them without the ball going foul, or out of play.

Foul ball: When a ball is hit to far left of third base or the far right of first base  before bounding once in play and going past third or first.

Bunt: When a player doesnt swing while at bat instead hit sticks his bat out and just bumps it with his bat

Double Play: When a basemen gets two outs in one play
